Internal Perspective
I found a love for figurative work early on in my artistic career, and often use myself as a model while exploring the theme of identity. Each piece in my series consists of multiple self-portraits arranged in a mirrored hexagonal tessellation, resembling a kaleidoscopic format; that is implied to extend beyond the boundaries of the page. Although the silhouette of every self-portrait is identical, each differs slightly in terms of the spatial arrangement of different body parts. Because I do not believe identity is fixed, the variances between the self-portraits are representative of different attributes, be they mental, physical, or societal; that play an equally important role in defining my ever-shifting identity.
