The expression of these sculptures made out of clay is considered an eccentric approach focused on my surrealistic imagination and awareness of nature. The animals that I am portraying in my work are considered pests. They are treated unfairly and humans have handled these species poorly regardless of their appearance and are generalized to a specific habitat, like dumpsters or sewers. The fingers that are wrapped around the animal’s body are the representation of manipulation and power, triggering signs of control.

My inspiration comes from pre-Colombian art from South America. These ancient cultures have inspired me on their practice of raw materials directly from the earth and their appreciation for nature, which many of us humans lack at this moment.

I created these pieces with the goal of creating awareness to the public on how we humans have neglected these living beings. But now the consequences of disease and invasive animals have gone beyond our control. As an aspiring artist, I only ask the public to reconsider our actions that may later have a negative result and understand the importance and the value of our conduct.
